The decision problem
Govern a consequential commercial decision
Most consequential commercial decisions are made once and then never revisited against the conditions that justified them. This practice designs the mandate, establishes who holds authority for what, records the decision and its basis, and installs the checkpoints at which the decision is re-tested against reality.
Capabilities
Independent review of a pending decision: the case, the contradictions within it, and what would need to be true for it to hold.
Defining scope, decision rights, evidence standards and success conditions before work begins.
Testing whether the evidence base is sufficient, whether contradictions have been resolved, and whether the decision is defensible.
Who is empowered to decide, who is accountable for the outcome, and where that mapping is currently ambiguous.
Pre-agreed points at which the decision is re-examined against the conditions on which it was taken.
Continuous tracking of the dependencies and conditions the decision assumed, with escalation when they move.
Ongoing senior oversight of a programme or relationship where the cost of drift is high.
Engagement shapes
Scope discipline
Commercial judgement is strongest when adjacent specialist work is named rather than blurred into the mandate. Where another discipline is required, we identify it early.
